Tibial Ankle Foot Orthoses
The PFS Med Tibial Ankle Foot Orthosis (TAFO) is a superior rigid orthosis that offers a wider range of applications than standard prefabricated orthoses. The difference is in PFS Med’s construction and design. Our hospital grade alloy shell is malleable for a custom fit. The longer tibular/fibular lever arm provides maximum support to the ankle.
PFS Med splints are manufactured with a neutral ankle position. The TAFO achieves therapeutic objectives by stabilizing the foot and ankle while also allowing easy access for wound care, skin checks and therapeutic range of motion exercises. Additionally, deep heel relief accommodates protruding os calcis fractures and allows maximum 10 degree plantar flexion. Dorsi flexion can be adjusted to 5 degrees.
